Are Telegram signal groups legit? How to judge “verified results”
Updated July 2026
Signal groups advertise 90% accuracy to hundreds of thousands of subscribers. A few are honest. Most are marketing machines whose real product is your subscription fee. Here's how the numbers are manufactured — and what genuine verification would look like.
How signal accuracy is manufactured
- Wide targets, silent stops: a call with four take-profit levels counts as a “win” if TP1 hits — even if price then crashes through the stop. Losers are quietly deleted or never recapped.
- Survivor channels: run five channels with opposite calls, delete the losers, promote the one with the lucky streak.
- Cherry-picked windows: “92% this month” after one good month, silence about the quarter.
- Unfillable entries: back-dated or spike-only prices no subscriber could actually have gotten.
The one question that filters everything
“Can I see the full record of every call — wins and losses — computed by someone who isn’t you?” Honest providers can answer yes. Everyone else changes the subject to testimonials, lifestyle photos, or “limited spots.”
A checklist before trusting (or paying) anyone
- Full history visible, not a highlight reel — including losing streaks.
- Results as percentages with drawdown shown, not dollar screenshots (see which metrics matter).
- Third-party computation the provider can’t edit.
- No pressure tactics, no “DM to trade your account” — that one is always a scam.
- Realistic claims: sustained 60% win rates with controlled drawdown are excellent; sustained 90% claims are a joke.
What actual verification looks like
The clean solution flips the model: instead of trusting what someone posts, the trader connects a read-only exchange key and a neutral platform computes their entire record — every trade, automatically, with privacy controls but no editing. That’s what SMCAlpha does. If a signal seller is as good as they claim, a verified public record costs them ten minutes and nothing else. The refusal is the answer.
See it in practice
Every record on SMCAlpha is pulled straight from the exchange through a read-only API key — nothing self-reported, nothing photoshopped.
